Proverbs 26:20-22. For lack of wood a fire goes out. Without gossip, a quarrel dies down. As coals are to hot embers, and wood to fire, so is a contentious man to kindling strife. The words of a whisperer are as dainty morsels, they go down into the innermost parts.

Proverbs 26:28.
A lying tongue hates those it hurts; and a flattering mouth works ruin.

Proverbs 28:1.
The wicked flee when no one pursues; but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

Proverbs 28:23. One who rebukes a man will afterward find more favor than one who flatters with the tongue.

Proverbs 28:24.
Whoever robs his father or his mother, and says, “It’s not wrong.” He is a partner with a destroyer.
